Instructions for the 22 Panel Drug Screening Cup
Make sure to follow the instructions when using the 22 panel drug screening cups.
- Open:
The test device should be kept at temperatures between 36 and 78 °F (2–30 °C). When the temperature is correct, the cup can be slowly removed from the packaging. - Collect:
Urine should only be deposited into the open cup when you are ready to use the device; otherwise it should remain closed. - Check:
Once the urine has been added, the temperature strips on the cup should display a temperature between 90 and 100 °F (32–38 °C). - Wait:
After the urine has been collected and the cup sealed, wait at least 5 minutes. Checking the test earlier will result in invalid results. - Read:
After 5 minutes have passed, you can read the test results by looking at the test strip membranes printed directly on the cup itself. - Interpret:
Follow the result reading instructions and examine the strip membranes. Pay special attention to the C (control) and T (test) markings.
How to Use the 22 Panel Drug Test Cup
The 22 Panel Cup
Like most drug test cups currently used in the USA, the 22 panel drug screening test uses the urine testing method. This method is so widely used because urine can retain traces of drugs for several days.
It is also worth noting that this testing method is relatively inexpensive compared to others. Depending on various factors, consumed drugs can remain in your urine for several days.
This means they stay in your system long after the effects of the drugs have worn off.
This is the main reason why the 22-panel cup performs its job so well and provides precise answers.
Please note that this method can produce false positive results. However, if the instructions provided with the product are fully followed, the chances of this happening are very low.
A false positive result can cause complications, so it is recommended to repeat and confirm the test whenever possible.
Reading the 22 Panel Test Results
Positive
Only one colored band appears in the control region (C). No visible colored band appears in the test region (T).
Negative
Two colored bands appear on the membrane. One band appears in the control region (C) and another band appears in the test region (T).
Invalid
The control band fails to appear. Results from any test which has not produced a control band at the specified read time must be discarded.
Adulteration Test
The adulteration test using these strips is a procedure that checks for any kind of tampering or manipulation of the donor’s urine sample.
These additional ADLTX strips further reduce the already minimal chance that the sample was altered or otherwise adulterated before testing.
Some of the most commonly used substances to intentionally contaminate urine during drug tests are:
- table salt
- household vinegar
- liquid laundry detergent / bleach
- lemon juice
- diluted urine (creatinine < 15 mg/mL)
- Visine eye drops
Drug test cups with built-in adulteration check are designed to be user-friendly and highly reliable.
